Restoring & Maintaining Your Teeth

Our priority is to restore & save your teeth whenever possible in cases of dental trauma or root damage.

Retain Your Natural Teeth Whenever Possible.

Most people have a strong preference to retain their natural permanent adult teeth whenever possible. Endodontics is the area of dentistry specifically focused in meeting that goal.

If a tooth’s pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels, becomes infected or damaged because of decay or injury, root canal treatment is often the only way to save your tooth and repair the damage. Endodontic treatment cleans out the infected pulp chamber, allowing you to retain your natural teeth as long as possible.

How Do I Know if I Need Endodontic Treatment?

It is important to schedule an appointment with your dentist to be evaluated if you experience pain or throbbing while chewing, sensitivity, gum swelling or tenderness, tooth discoloration, or notice a pimple-like bump on or near your gums (which could be an abscess). Additionally, if you experience dental trauma such as a hard hit to the mouth or a tooth fracture, an emergency dental visit is necessary.

These symptoms do not mean a root canal is the only outcome. The sooner you get in to see your dentist, the sooner he or she will be able to identify the cause for the pain or discomfort and recommend a treatment plan.
